Why Sport & Safaris

Partners: Sport & Safaris coordinate with leaders from the various sports that we promote, in order to provide our travellers with the highest quality product possible! From sport scientists ensuring that participants receive the best medical, nutritional and conditioning advice and care, to equipment suppliers providing top rate equipment, and sports personalities imparting their knowledge in order to build the best possible packages.

Quality Control: Sport & Safaris not only works on a- ‘see before we sell basis’, we have also implemented our own grading system for all service providers from Hotels to Golf Courses, Polo Clubs and Fishing charters. All of these providers are marked according to a weighted scorecard. The scorecard is specific to that Sport/Department and therefore, for example, a hotel can have a different grading according to what sport it has been graded for. Our various scorecards are extremely stringent and Sport & Safaris will not send or take guests to any establishment, venue or sporting facility that does not meet the required grade. We do not take risks with our clients, all transportation used, has to be from well established companies which meet certain criteria. Tour staff are carefully picked, monitored and evaluated before they can lead a tour group.
Please note that we are looking to implement our own (sport specific) training programme in the future.

All the information you need: Sport & Safaris believes information is power, from our website(s) where potential clients can view their prospective destination or event, to when they book they are given as much information about their adventure as possible. We have professionally written, researched and edited travel articles, maps and photos from our multimedia department.

Peace of Mind: Sport & Safaris are members of SATSA- Southern African Tourism Services Association which is generally regarded as the foremost association for Tour operators in South Africa. We have public liability and professional indemnity and we are insured by SATIB, Safari and Tourism insurance Brokers. A bonding scheme has been implemented by SATSA which will give a SATSA company customer R75 000 cover on deposits in the circumstance of the SATSA company entering liquidation.

Buying Power: Due to our 6 departments, we have consistent travelers throughout the year that give us a certain buying power. In addition to this we offer our preferred establishments advertising at a reduced rate in our various guides in exchange for better ‘commissions’, this is called ‘bartering’.  We also group ourselves together with HotelWEB when negotiating rates, therefore increasing our buying power.

Service: Sport & Safaris prides itself on its exceptional service. In this internet empowered age, the human element is often taken out of service businesses. However Sport & Safaris has reintroduced this in many ways. We have a 24 hour a day hotline,   representatives in the four major areas to meet and greet clients at the airport, and they act as liaisons in their various ‘quadrants.’ In addition, we are looking at training our own Tour Leaders, so they become specialized in their various fields.

Strength in diversity: Our 6 departments not only allow us consistent yield throughout the year, they also allow us the opportunity of offering our clients various options in regard to their main activity, i.e. Supporters wanting to play golf, golfers wanting to fish, polo players wanting to attend a horse race.
